Laurent Perrier Millesime Vintage 2012 The wine is medium straw yellow in colour with an open and well developed nose. On the palate it is rich well sustained with a slight biscuity character from the prolonged lees ageing and a long finish of honeyed ripe fruit. Sending a bottle  Laurent Perrier Champagne makes a gift extra special. 

The Vintage is the choice of an exceptional year from which only a selection of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Grands Crus will enter into a future iteration of Grand Siècle. It is a rare and outstanding wine that expresses the character of the year in the Laurent-Perrier style.

2012 was characterized by a cold but not harsh winter and a dull and rainy spring. Harvest started mid-September in dry and cold conditions, perfect weather for healthy grapes which provided attractive Chardonnays and Pinots Noirs. These high quality grapes revealed an outstanding aromatic richness that boded well for an exceptional Vintage.

Grape varietals:

• Chardonnay 50%
• Pinot Noir 50%

Crus:

• Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant, Chouilly
• Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims: Bouzy, Ay, Verzy, Mailly, Rilly-la-Montagne

The wine is white gold in colour with a fine sparkle.
A flowery nose of great complexity, with notes of citrus and white peaches.
A wine that is very present with a lively attack and great finesse with good minerality and notes of grapefruit on the finish.
Best served between 9°C and 11°C.

WINE/FOOD PAIRINGS

The Vintage pairs well with seafood and noble fish as well as with poultry or veal. This wine sublimates hard pressed cheeses such as a young Comté or a Beaufort.
