Vinified in March 2021, the grapes are picked at full ripeness and only free running juice is used. The wine is settled at 10°C and then transferred to 300 Litre barrels for fermentation. After 6 months of barrel maturation, it is finally bottled for your enjoyment.

The terroir of Bergsig Estate plays a significant role in the quality of their wines. Located on the upper slopes of the Breede River Valley at 240 – 350m above sea level, the estate experiences a Mediterranean climate with an annual rainfall of approximately 1000mm. The cold winters with snow until late Spring result in slow ripening of the grapes. The unique geological fault, the Worcester Fault, running through the valley contributes to the diversity of soils, with hills composed of weathered sandstone and the valley floor sedimented with various soil parent material.
