Jinzu Gin 70cl

Jinzu Gin 70cl is gin with a Japanese twist designed by bartender Dee Davies for Diageo’s Show Your Spirit competition in 2013 (which it went on to win), the gin is a fantastic example of East meets West, with traditional gin botanicals joining cherry blossom, yuzu and sake to form a distinctive gin with a real sense of place.

This gin is made by infusing juniper berries, coriander and angelica in neutral grain spirit in a copper pot still, before adding yuzu fruit & Japanese cherry blossom immediately prior to starting distillation. Junmai sake is then blended with the gin post-distillation. The resultant gin is surprisingly weighty and intense in style, with a powerful aroma and flavour profile that is unashamedly brash and contemporary.

A gin-sake hybrid. That's right, this unique product is a “British gin with distilled sake and cherry blossom." A wonderful refreshing taste, provides an excellent variation to the classic gin cocktails.

Tasting Notes: fleshy and bright citrus notes jump to the front, with sake bringing an underlying sweetness. There is a subtle juniper berry notes with the cherry blossom giving it a well balanced floral note, that smooths off into a creamy sake. Jinzu Gin is easy to sip neat, and is adventurous without being outrageous. Try with Apple juice
